Cheap blogging

I know, I know, it's a cheap way to blog, but Bill's out playing rock this week and it's just me and the lil 'uns, so forgive my cheapness.

Below are a few of the giftees that arrived for Sweetpea since her birth (9 weeks old btw). There's a sweet fish blanket (and pillow), a rockin halter, a cute as pie aviator bonnet (from Shannon, the hottest fake leather pants, and the sweetest pink frog button outfit. Thanks everyone!

And the cheep just keeps on coming...all new on the insubordiknit blog, no text, all pictures! A swap gone good, I sent a hank of purple eater and Kat sent me this great fiber and some of her own great yarn!

I recently did another fantastic trade but I've got a post planned to go along with the pic and it'll include knitting!

Oh, one more thing. I use a leopard rosado sling to haul the little one around but the weather is starting to warm up and the shoulder is starting to wear down. I think I need a second so that the wear on my body is varied. Anyone have any advice on a warm weather sling?

Hey, Jacey, did you ever think of using a Mei-tai instead of a sling? You wear it on your back; alot of Korean and Chinese women use them. There are some people selling them on the net...btw, the babe is so beautiful, and lil bit is so dashing and doting!

This is a great post, especially for those among us who love to see how calm, assured and peaceful you look. Old friends are still here. Enjoy your multi-dimensional success, long nose...

Very special photos! I can feel the love.
Checkout wearyourbaby.com they have many different styles of slings and instructions to make your own. I "wear" my four month old all the time. Love my sling and it only costed me $15 and an 1 hr of my time.

Hey: Thanks for the great blog. I check in now and again 'cause I love your creativity, comments etc.

About slings: I used this pattern here http://www.jenrose.com/sling/slingtxt.htm and made a number of her "tube slings". Very quick and easy, and you can make it in different fabrics. I especially like the curve at the bottom. The only thing I found is that this sling doesn't work for heavy babes as it isn't padded. I guess you could modify it though . . .

Cheers,
Alicia

Yippee Skippee! Love the pics. Love the wooliness. Love the Knitting.

..and about the slings...with #3 I found kangaroo korner pouches. love them love them love them and they have oodles of different fabrics, even one for in the water. Last summer I used it and a stretch cotton one and was very happy. i know their solarveil ones have a cult-like following...the fabric is sun protection for the babe too. they're a local company here in MN started by a baby wearing mom, and they make just about every style of carrier. am even in some of their pics...look for the squishy mom in the red t-shirt...that be me and #3.

Gosh they're special! I currently use an EllaRoo 'mei hip' carrier and two pocket slings: a New Native and a Hotslings one with the padded edge. I just finally got used to carrying baby O with them recently as he was so huge at birth that he really didn't fit comfortably inside any of them. Now that he can sit upright and hold his head up, they're all great! I think you could easily sew your own pocket sling in an hour or two, or their sites often have sales on overstocks, etc. that are really reasonable.

Hey...cuteness!

So, from your neighbor...I liked, well, loved my Maya wrap. I have also heard good things about those mesh slings for summer..you can go into the water/shower/pool with them.

Many mamas I knew from LLL for summer just used a big wide piece of cute cotton fabric and tied it on. I have a few sarongs I used like that for the beach with my youngest.

See you around the neighborhood, I hope some time soon. I have told a trillion knitters I know about your blog/shop but they all claim to be too much of a novice knitter to use your gorgeous stuff.

Neighborhood knitting class? purty please?
