I tried. I really freakin' tried. And like time and time again, I failed, failed, failed. My hair will never be long and luxurious, not to mentioned pigtailed. Nope. It gets to the point it was at, about shoulder length, and I start to twitch, then the scissors and clippers come out, and I've got this same old haircut (mostly because it's the only one I can do on my own). My mom says it looks best on me, something about my chin and neck, or something. Bill thinks it's cute. I appreciate the ease of it, what about you (and yes, I know that it's violating like the first rule of blogging -- never ask your readers a direct question about, of all things, you freakin' hairstyle.
Also, I've been sick, more when I'm all recovered. I've got at least 2, maybe 3 rows of knitting to show you!
Posted by jacey at March 25, 2007 07:17 PMYou have no idea how lucky you are that you look adorable with short hair. Last time I cut mine that short (shorter, actually...) I had the same feeling that you had with the shoulder length hair, only all I could do was wait for it to grow.
Nothin' wrong with short hair. Or with looking cute. Honest.
Posted by: Susie at March 25, 2007 09:52 PMi've had my hair that short, and i loved it. of course, right now i can sit on my hair (i go to both extremes, lol). if i cut this off (and donate it, of course) i'll do it that short. i hate in between hair.
yours is cute!
Posted by: Minnie at March 25, 2007 10:14 PMI think it looks really cute, but I'm partial to short hair.
I'm not brave enough to cut it myself though. Major props for that.
Posted by: amanda at March 25, 2007 10:24 PMI probably should wear my hair like that since I never wear it down! Yours looks adorable my dear!
Posted by: scoutj at March 25, 2007 10:51 PMI love it! I also think short hair is a lot better than long hair. Not only does it look better, but it takes so little time to wash and style. I wish my hair could look so good when I clip mine short. But mine is so thick that it stands up on end, no matter how much hair product I use. And I'm too lazy to thin it out.
Posted by: Kat at March 26, 2007 08:53 AMI think it's awesome! And I think it really does suit you. Plus, it's gotta be easier with the new little bambina. Strangely enough, last night I dreamed I was cutting my own hair super short. I think my head is too big for hair that short or something. I hope you feel better soon!
Posted by: Susan at March 26, 2007 10:13 AMI love your short hair! It looks fantastic. I love short hair, but I'll have to live vicariously through you because when I tried cutting my hair that short I looked like a balding man.
Long hair is over-rated.
Posted by: Ms. Angie at March 26, 2007 11:31 AMOh... I am so there... I have been trying to grow my hair out for years!!! (It was waist length is high school...) I can't seem to let it grow past my chin. I feel the same twitchiness and then it happens...I suddenly find myself in a salon chair (I will never have the courage to cut my own hair)...
I happen to think you look great with short hair! It's cute, sexy and sassy all at the same time...not to mention how easy it is to take care of!
Hope to see you soon!
Heather
Hi! i'm a bit of a lurker. but I've got to say, I love your hair. I would love to cut my hair that short but I don't have the guts to do it. It looks great on you, too!
Posted by: Moni at March 26, 2007 01:28 PMI much prefer it short, you have great thick hair and you're lucky to have a nice shaped head that you can get away with such short locks. My vote is for short, low maintenance is the best!!
Posted by: Terra at March 26, 2007 02:24 PMI can't grow mine out either, I just chopped mine, too.
Posted by: pam at March 26, 2007 04:02 PMI think it looks super!
Well done you!!

Hey, I like it! Then again, I've had that same exact haircut a few times myself. Short hair becomes you.
Maybe I'll see you at spinning on Friday? Or knitting on Saturday (which is when I'm more likely to make it)? I've got something for the sweetpea.
Posted by: PuppyMomma at March 26, 2007 11:16 PMAdmittedly, I love that haircut on just about anyone, but I do think you look spectacular.
Posted by: Mandy at March 27, 2007 11:18 AMIt definitely suits you! It looks great! I'm trying to get up the nerve to cut mine that short, but I'm not sure I can swing it.
Posted by: Amanda at March 28, 2007 09:02 AMLooks good! I can't do short hair, so I'm jealous! Feel better soon!
Posted by: Sophia at March 28, 2007 11:07 AMHi there! I just wanted to make sure you're aware that your blog is in the queue for the Fiber Arts Bloggers ring, because you don't have any code up. I just sent you the code again--please let me know if you don't get it? I'd love to get you back in the ring. :)
Posted by: Joni at March 28, 2007 01:49 PMI adore the short hair! In fact, I think women with short hair look confident and strong. It's definately good. :)
Posted by: Kate at March 29, 2007 10:19 PMYou look fabulous darling! The last time I mentioned to my hairdresser that maybe being over 40 it was time to have a more sensible haircut - like a page boy or something les 80's punk all the hairdresser's hooted. Seems I must be in a lifetime short hair rut. I was born with short hair sticking up all over the place and maybe I will go out that way, too! Let me warn you that as you age it is less cute but definitely more efficient!
Posted by: Diane at March 30, 2007 12:15 AMi found myself nodding at your post--i'm the same way. i try to grow it, hate it, chop it all off.
of course, i'm not as brave as you to cut it myself.
right now i'm trying longer in the front with short in the back.
your hair is uber-cute!!!
I think you look like a punk elf, which is to say delightful yet with a bit of an edge. You totally rock the look.
I tried it once. I looked blander than bland. It was so appallingly yucky I'm still shuddering.
