Spinners we love

It dawned on me, or actually, it dawns on me quite often, every time I check my e-mail or spend the regular wednesday at Reenie's house, that I don't talk about what an awesome community of handspinners I'm lucky to be a part of. I don't even know if you that we're tight like (insert dirty hyman-centric joke here). But we are, tight like that. We have e-mail lists, online communities, workshops, spin-dates, and long conversations across 2 cans and string, beer cans and handspun string, that is. Little Bit and I spend at least 6 hours a week (every wednesday) with Reenie (of material whirled) and her cool-as-hell family. We sit and spin, lean and learn. Spinning has brought me so much, not the least of which is a bunch of amazing friends who constantly challenge, inspire, and support me!

So in the interest of community-building and of giving my very wonderful customers some new places to check out, here's a list of some of my favorite handspinners, there's only 2 below (hello yarn and brooklyn handspun) that I haven't met and felt up in person (felt up the yarn, you with the dirty mind!) If I don't have yarn you need (huh?) I'm sure one of these talented gals does!

A handmade gift -- Carrie is wonderful! Such a person! Oh, and her fibers rock too!
My Paper Crane -- Heidi blows me away! Her yarn is goergous and her sad toast makes me smile.
Material Whirled -- I can't say enough nice things, they rock my socks!
Luxe -- Natasha is a wild woman and it comes through in her lovely, soft yarns!
Hello yarn -- flawless beauty!
Pluckyfluff -- innovative fibery goodness!
Jenny Neutron Star -- intergalactic fiber slave!
Brooklyn handspun -- Yarns like ice cream!
Studioloo -- Overwhelmingly super-cool!

Did I miss anyone? I'm sure I did. I'm gonna start another bloglist of spinners I like, when i get the time. Oh, to have more time! My yarny kingdom for more time!

Ohh... that list was just what I've been looking for! I belong to a local guild here in so. MD, with a great group of very talented spinners... but none of them do anything remotely like what you do, and what I aspire to! Thanks for the links, and for keeping that rockin' yarn coming!
